Repeat Prescriptions

We need 48 hours' notice for all requests for repeat prescriptions. Requests for repeat prescriptions can be made by telephone after 11.00am, in writing, by fax, on line via our website or by calling at the surgery.

Please bring or send in your computer slip or list of the required medication in good time, remembering to make allowances for weekends and public holidays. Enclose an SAE if you would like your prescription posted to you.

We are unable to take orders or issue repeat prescriptions at weekends, during public holidays or outside normal surgery hours.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
